Tailgate Tidbits: Pac-12 game nuggets, TV info, point spreads and score predictions

It’s Week Two, it’s a full load — all 12 teams are in action — and here’s what you need to know:

1. The Pac-12 is 12-1 overall, but five victories are over FCS competition. The conference is 3-0 against Power Five opponents (ACC, Big 12, Big Ten and SEC).

2. Former Oregon coach Mark Helfrich will handle color commentary for Oregon State-Minnesota on FS1.

3. “KUSH”, about the life of former Arizona State coach Frank Kush, will debut on Pac-12/Arizona on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The 90-minute documentary, produced by ASU, will be broadcast on Pac-12/National on Tuesday.

4. Five of the 11 games today start at 7 p.m. or later, making this the busiest night of the Pac-12 season. It’s #Pac12AfterDark like no other Saturday.

5. All games on Pac-12 Networks will have a reduced break between the first-and-second and third-and-fourth quarters. The UCLA, Cal and Washington games also will have 15-minute halftimes. Both measures are part of the Pac-12’s plan to shorten the games.

(Check the Hotline Monday for an update on the progress.)

6. Here’s the game schedule with updated point spreads and score predictions:

(Note: With the quadruple header on the Pac-12 Networks, expect at least one game to run long. The networks usually stick with the in-progress game on the national feed and start the next game on the regional feed.)
