Judge threatens to haul Macklowe accountants to court

The judge hearing Harry and Linda Macklowe’s nasty divorce battle threatened to haul their accountants to court — for testimony that could wind on so long that it would leave them married several more years — if they don’t start agreeing on how to settle their debts.

Linda’s lawyer, John Teitler, spent hours grilling Harry about why he never listed $300 million in deferred capital-gains taxes owed from the 2008 sale of the General Motors Building on multiple financial disclosures to lenders.

The exasperated judge suggested the Macklowes — who haven’t paid taxes since 1983 — agree to split the debt since they both benefited from it. Otherwise, she threatened to call their army of accountants to the witness stand.

“This is going to drag on for two or three more years,” the judge warned.
