Basically, you just need to disassemble the laptop and clean the fan and replace the thermal paste on CPU & GPU. If the GPU got overheated and gave us NO POST issue, then we have to have anti-static equipment to do chip-level repair (BGA rework) on the motherboard. bicoolutube January 9, 2018 Hi, it's highly recommended to have anti-static mats and wrist straps when you work on electronic repair. However, it's not possible to have this kind of equipments for everyone, especially for DIY purpose. Edward Cunningham January 9, 2018 just wondering what precautions I need to take regarding static electricity, etc. Do you wear gloves, earth yourself some way? 2ndly can you just put termal paste on the cpu and gpu and rebuild?
