Byron: Teen hospitalized with head injury at dirt bike park

BYRON — A 15-year-old boy was knocked unconscious after he suffered a head injury while attempting a jump on a dirt bike, according to a news release by emergency responders.

Firefighters were called to the scene and the boy was taken to a hospital via an air ambulance.

The crash occurred around 9:38 a.m. Saturday at Sand Hill Ranch, a motor cross track in far East Contra Costa. Firefighters did not identify the boy, nor did they immediately provide an update on his condition.

Sand Hill Ranch is a roughly 40-acre site containing multiple motorcross tracks. It shut down in 2012 but reopened earlier this year.
